Newborn photography sessions are special, and this photo shoot was no exception. I’m so excited about how beautiful the photos turned out from Madeline’s session. This gorgeous baby was such a joy to photograph. All the photos of Madeline are absolutely precious. Seriously, look at this beautiful baby. One of the things I love most about my job is capturing these beautiful memories for parents. There’s something magical about newborns. Their sweetness just melts my heart. Go ahead and take a look at my other photos of newborn sessions.
Now I’ll let you in on a secret. These gorgeous photos don’t happen by accident. They’re the result of a little planning. Here are some behind the scene tips for preparing for a successful newborn session.
It is helpful to have a sleepy newborn in order to achieve those sweet sleepy poses. One thing that I recommend is to give your newborn a bath or sponge bath approximately 40 minutes prior to the start of your session. This keeps them awake before the shoot and uses up some of their energy. About 30 minutes before a session, turn up the temperature to 80 degrees in your home. This helps your little one get cozy and sleepy. Another tip, change into some cooler clothes for yourself. This way you don’t get too warm! Babies love the warmer temperatures, but adults not so much. About 15-20 minutes before my scheduled arrival time, go ahead and feed your little one.
These steps set the stage for an enjoyable photo shoot. Most of all, I want you to have fun! These are moments to cherish and treasure.
