maternity Session faq

How long are maternity and family sessions?

Maternity and family sessions are typically around 45 minutes long. Additional time may be added at your request, however, arrangements must be made in advance.

What time do sessions take place?

The best lighting for outdoor sessions is 1 hour before the sun sets or within the hour right after the sun has risen. If you wish to have an indoor lifestyle session within your home, the time of your session depends on when your home has the most amount of natural light in the area you wish to be photographed in.

May I bring my spouse and other children to be photographed?

Absolutely! As many as 5 family members may be included in your session free of charge. Each additional person is $20.”

Can I bring pets to be photographed?

Yes! I love incorporating pets into sessions! Please note that you may need to bring someone along to look after your pets after they are incorporated into some of your photos. If the session takes place in the summer months, it will be too hot to leave them in the car while we finish your session. Also, keep in mind that some locations do not allow pets on the premise or in certain areas.

What do I wear?

Neutral toned clothing is best. I recommend avoiding bright colors and busy or big patterns and logos. Brightly colored clothing can also reflect unflattering colors to the skin. For maternity sessions, I am a huge fan of flowy maxi dresses! It is comfortable and very flattering on the body. If you don’t mind showing off your beautiful curves, I also recommend a tightly-fitted dress! Whatever you wish you wear, the most important is that you are comfortable and that you feel beautiful wearing it!

Can I bring a change of clothes?

Yes! Feel free to bring a change of clothes if you wish. I even have a spacious portable pop-up tent that I can bring along during the session!
